January Gardening Tips!

🌱TOP GARDEN TIPS for JANUARY🌱

The temperature has dropped and even though we’re in the midst of Winter, there’s lots you can be doing for your home and garden in January!

📝Planning & Maintenance

Sketch out a few plans and ideas in a notepad? Draw a simple diagram of your garden and think about what you’d like to add. Clean pots, tools, and greenhouses, ready for the spring!

❄️Protect tender plants

The cold snaps can harm growing plants. Keep delicate ones covered with fleece, and in a cold frame or greenhouse if possible.

🐦‍Don’t forget to feed the birds

Keeping wildlife happy helps contribute to healthy environment, and even if you’re lacking a few vibrant flowers right now, nothing quite beats the sight of a robin returning to visit your garden space. Even if you’ve got a small balcony, you can still attract the birds. We have a lovely range of bird feeders and food here at the garden centre.

🪴If you’ve been using the heating at home, keep an eye on your houseplants, as they may need some extra watering!

We do have a beautiful selection of already flowering, and soon to be flowering winter plants, perfect for pots, baskets, and planters, whatever the size of your space. Stop by and see us here in Gillingham this January. ☺️
