Plant of the Month Agapanthus (Lily of the Nile)

There are two main types of agapanthus – deciduous and evergreen. These bold and architectural plants are strikingly beautiful and have become very popular in recent years!

Originating in South Africa and often called African lilies, their strappy leaves and statuesque stems topped with balls of intensely coloured flowers from pale blue to dark blue to black to white also two tone varieties, these plants fit easily into any modern garden setting or a traditional mixed border. They are also good for containerising.

They very low maintenance and will survive the winter outdoors. A must have for any garden!
