Plant Watch – May

The main feature of this month’s Plant Watch are Dhalias!

They are a herbaceous perennial, they come in a wide range of colours and flower types, like pompom cactus, dinner-plate, and single. Their foliage can be green or bronze, so there’s plenty to choose from in terms of a colour scheme that will suit your garden.

They’re very easy to grow, either in a pot or in the ground. They are good for cut flowers and you will be able to pick flowers right up until the first frost!

A few other plants to look out for this month are Acanthus (bears breeches), Hardy Geraniums, Lilies, and Delphiniums. If you want another plant that will give you a long flowering period, you can also look out for the Fuchsia.
