Here at Thorngrove it’s all steam ahead as we get ready for the new Spring season. Plug plants are arriving weekly at the moment, it’s mainly herbaceous perennials and Alpines, so we are having to do lots of moving around to make room! Sweet peas are sown also peppers, broad bean plants sown and ready for planting in the vegetable garden.
Plants that are looking good at the moment – we have some beautiful polyanthus and primroses ready to brighten up your dreary containers and pots! We also have new season pansies and violas, plus lots of spring bulbs like tete-a-tete, tulips, iris, muscari, hyacinths, crocus and allium. There’s lots of new season bulbs in the shop, as well as seed potatoes and onion sets.
Rhododendrons and Azaleas are in bud and looking very nice too, and Photinias are starting into growth, they have bright red young foliage in spring – which won’t be long now!
